The Western South Fork

A sleepier get a way closer to Manhattan with a vibe all its' own; these hamlets each with their own unique personalities offer an alternative lifestyle some with more accessible price points for real estate.  Remsenburg, rich in vintage homes with a New England vibe; this most western hamlet is the only without ocean access but offers water at the end of most every block bordering the Moriches Bay.  The largest town; Westhampton flanking the Atlantic Ocean is a classic seasonal beach town that closes up on Labor Day.  It's next door neighbor; the incorporated village of Quogue with its' own government is also flanked by the ocean and dotted with estate section shingle homes. In the middle of summer; manicured Quogue Village with all but an Elementary School, Library, General Store, Post Office, a Court House / Theatre and a few shops is the sleepiest of all.  Just west, East Quogue with a sweet little village atmosphere is more of a year round community than a summer community.  Just west of the Shinnecock Canal lies Hampton Bays the largest hamlet with a more bustling village feel and commercial amenities.  Hampton Bay; also a year round & summer community this hamlet offers Ponquogue Beach a public beach with parking and a pavilion, Meschuit Beach with scenic bay views a county park with playground.  And lastly Tianna Beach.  Both are year round communities.
